Washington Redskins Congratulate Dallas Mavericks Very Carefully

The Washington Redskins have done what many professional sports teams have done and congratulated the Dallas Mavericks on winning the 2011 NBA title. For the Redskins, celebrating the Mavericks' victory is particularly purposeful because one could argue the Mavericks were the organic team that dismantled the super team in Miami, and the thing the Redskins keep trying to run away from is that they more closely resemble Miami than Dallas.

There's only one problem. Celebrating the Mavericks means celebrating Dallas, and you know how problematic that is. One minute after posting this, the official Redskins' Twitter account felt the need to clarify.

Also, here's hoping it's the last Dallas championship in a long while. #Redskinsless than a minute ago via TweetDeck Favorite Retweet Reply

I guess this means the Redskins will root for the Heat if the two teams ever meet again. Because Dallas is the city where the Cowboys play, and all other sports teams are evil by association.
